Comic 27: The Army Revolts: Dumbledore In Strife.

This, by far, takes the cake for longest comics to make. Discounting the fact that the idea was had weeks ago, when it came to making the actual thing, there's the week it took to get a new colour cartridge for my printer (thanks Dad!) so I could print the appropriate backgrounds and side panels for the telephone box. Then there's the three tedious hours I spent cutting out the tiny little tabs and intricate shapes to put the box together, which I eventually gave up on in absolute frustration. Add to that the hour it took to salvage the box panels by pasting them onto card and creating the box that way. Then the hour it took to take all four photos without Hermione falling down every three seconds, getting everyone in the middle scene in focus (exempting Ginny and Neville, because this is impossible!) and trying to disguise the fact that Ginny and Neville have no legs. Then the half an hour it took to resize, tag and add dialogue.
You damn well better have enjoyed that everyone! =P

Comic 24: An Important Announcement

Comic 23: The Perfect Gift

I decided to change the font to a serif font, hopefully it's a little clearer. I was having trouble differentiating between commas and full stops with the old one.

Wizengamot News: Pottercast Blog Challenge, Costumes, Midnight Screenings and more...

A few Harry Potter related musings today. First of all, I just read about this Pottercast Blog Challenge, and seeing as how I love Pottercast and think that the greatest thing ever would be to be mentioned on Pottercast, I thought I'd give it a go. You should listen anyway, because it's awesome.

I love how they get to be on panels for big conferences and fan meetings, it's such a shame that we don't have anything like that here in Australia. If we had anything like that, would people show up. I'd be interested to get a group of people together to see what we could come up with.

Speaking of getting people together for Harry Potter related stuff, I'm really enthused about getting people together to attend a midnight screening...in full costume of course. It's sad that when I've approached people about it, I've gotten a really negative reaction. People interpret it as obsessive and embarassing, but the way I see it, it's about having fun, not taking yourself too seriously, not being afraid to get a little childish and express your appreciation for the awesome world of Harry Potter. I also think that, now that the books are finished and we're running out of movies, there aren't going to be many more openings left to attend. It's about being thankful that we're the generation who were around to experience the phenomenon first hand. In the future, people won't understand what it was like to wait for a book, or what it was like for people from all walks of life to come together, united by the desire to know what happens next, to predict the final books and to discuss them when they came. So, I for one, am not ashamed to have been a part of that and plan to show it.
I want to go as a Hufflepuff student (Because Hufflepuff rules) so I'm going to order these and then make my own Hogwarts cloak, lined in yellow. Not that I'm any good at sewing but I'll make it work. And somehow to get my hands on a wand....

I'm also dying for new Potter merchandise. I'd love to be able to introduce new characters into the comic. I'd love to get a Luna and a Snape, Hagrid, and a bigger Dumbledore. Something like these would be good: fully poseable!

But even if we don't get a lot of stuff, I'll revel in anything new that does show up in the shops down here. I've been contemplating getting bigger figurines. Right now I work with the tiny Gentle Giant bust ups and the ~3inch trio + Sirius from NECA. My Ford Anglia is from Corgi.

I'd love the 7inch ones, but that would make it a lot harder to pose in front of the A4 printouts I've been using for backgrounds. If anyone wants to send me some as a sign of fandom... ;)

Stuff like this from NECA makes me drool. But, again, not so poseable . Great to have, but for comics, not so much.

I think that'll do for now. Got a couple of comics waiting to be made, just got to find the time to get some new sets and take the pics. Keep checking back.

Comic 21: The Film Which Must Not Be Named

Hi all, sorry it's been a whole week without a comic. Very busy at the moment with uni.
Thanks heaps to Jeff for all the help with this one.

Enjoy.

(By the way, that's a tumbleweed up there in panel 3, just in case)
