Comic 33: Date Debriefing

Ok, I promise to ease up a bit on the Neville BAMF-y comics from now on, and do some more varied Potter humour. They're just too easy! But I hope you enjoy them.

Wizengamot News: Merchandise!

I decided to take photos of some of the Harry Potter stuff I own which, other than the figurines, isn't actually a lot. However, I have two new additions to my collection well worth showing off. This is because they've just opened up a 'Global Gear' near where I live, a shop that specialises in movie replicas. So, I had a little bit of a splurge.

This is Hermione's wand, a present from the ever-generous, handsome and all-round lovely Jeff (whose decision to spoil and encourage my obsession rather than scoff at it, I will always be thankful for! =P).

We went back on Wednesday and they were still on sale, so I bought myself Sirius' as well.

They each have a tiny button hidden on them which activates a LED light in the tip. Jeff tells me that they use these in the movies too, so the Special Effects guys know exactly when to shoot the spells. Either way, they're awesome.

Here are a few other bits and pieces I own. Alarm Clock (which no longer works, but is still cute), Harry Potter 20 Questions, Enviro bags and a giant Order of the Phoenix Poster.

I've also got a couple of companion books which I bought on sale after the release of Deathly Hallows. They're a lot of fun to read retrospectively. My favourite part to read in 'The Great Snape Debate' in 'The Case for Snape's Guilt' section is "Interestingly, some readers believe that Snape was in love with Lily Evans Potter from their time at Hogwarts and that Snape's treatment of Harry stems from a grudge about her marrying his rival. While this is a lovely thought, Snape's actions do not support it."
Ahem, Burn.

There's also a sticker book and the pencil case I stole from my brother about a year ago and have been taking to Uni ever since.

And, of course, my beloved shelf of figurines.

Comic 31: A Perfect Brew

MY NEW FIGURINES ARRIVED TODAY!!!!
So, of course, I got right on it and made a little introductory comic for the first of them. (Shooting in portrait is weird, but I couldn't get a decent landscape background.)

Comic 29: Sweet Revenge

Wizengamot Update:
Hello all. Hope you enjoyed that.
Just thought I'd let you know to watch this space, because now that I'm done with exams, I'll have a lot more time for comic making. I've got a couple of things coming up that I'm excited about. First of all, I've got, not one, but TWO new characters that should be on their way to me in the post right now. God bless eBay. But you'll just have to stay tuned to find out who. Second of all, I've got a little something different in the works. It's probably going to take a little time (unless I get really caught up in it, which is a possibility!) but you can expect to see a little something to satisfy your Harry Potter needs in a less panelled format.
I've got a whole host of other ideas for potential site features that might draw in a few more people, but I'm not sure exactly how well they'd work. I guess I'll just have to wait and see if they eventuate.
The message: Stay Tuned!

Comic 27: The Army Revolts: Dumbledore In Strife.

This, by far, takes the cake for longest comics to make. Discounting the fact that the idea was had weeks ago, when it came to making the actual thing, there's the week it took to get a new colour cartridge for my printer (thanks Dad!) so I could print the appropriate backgrounds and side panels for the telephone box. Then there's the three tedious hours I spent cutting out the tiny little tabs and intricate shapes to put the box together, which I eventually gave up on in absolute frustration. Add to that the hour it took to salvage the box panels by pasting them onto card and creating the box that way. Then the hour it took to take all four photos without Hermione falling down every three seconds, getting everyone in the middle scene in focus (exempting Ginny and Neville, because this is impossible!) and trying to disguise the fact that Ginny and Neville have no legs. Then the half an hour it took to resize, tag and add dialogue.
You damn well better have enjoyed that everyone! =P

Comic 26: Little White Lies

Let's get all nostalgic with some Philosopher's Stone related humour. Enjoy.
